Q. My father passed away last month. He was taking a wide assortment of medications, and now we have a cupboard full of them. Are there any groups that accept them? It seems a shame to throw them all away, considering how much they cost and all the people who could benefit.

Q. Sometimes when you're at a store checking out, they ask you for your phone number and enter it into their register. What do they do with these numbers?

Q. This probably will sound crazy, but was there ever a roller-skating rink at St. Clair Square in Fairview Heights? My daughter needs the information for a history report, and a family member believes there was one at one point during the 1970s or 1980s. Please help.

Q. I recently bought an old movie at a dollar store called "Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla." There's an actor in the movie who looks just like Jerry Lewis, but Lewis isn't mentioned in the credits. Was the movie so bad that Lewis didn't want credit or what?

Q. In a recent column, Pat Kuhl referred to Otto Schultz, who had a show on Belleville radio station WIBV many years ago, and it stirred up some of my own memories. I recall sometimes hearing the show while visiting my grandma. Do I remember correctly that it aired around midday? Also, was the format of the show mostly German music? I am also curious how many years the Otto Schultz show ran, and whether that was the man's real name or a stage name.

Q. Why do restaurants all have to have their own silly birthday songs? Why don't they just sing "Happy Birthday" to customers who are celebrating? Sometimes you can't improve on the original.

Q. A recent article in your paper said Metro was building a track at the Fairview Heights MetroLink station to turn trains around. The sign at the station says they are building a pocket track for $10 million. Every time I have ridden MetroLink, the driver merely walks from one end of the train to the other to change direction. Why do they need this expensive track when there's talk about services being cut if Missouri doesn't increase its tax revenue? Another Metro boondoggle?
