The art of the news photo: The Belleville News-Democrat is presenting an exhibition of news photographs as part of its 150th anniversary celebration.

Photos including the St. Peter Cathedral fire in 1911, the campaign stop by JFK in 1960 and current images by the newspaper’s photojournalists are currently on exhibit through Aug. 8 at the Governor French Academy Arts Center at 223 W. Main St., Belleville, Ill. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
